Our vision
The doctrines that shaped Polaris.
Our vision for Polaris is rooted in four clear and straight forward doctrines that defined how we shaped our identity. And tubes.
Doctrine #1: Steel is real.
Polaris is founded by full time bike mechanics, and for us there were never second thoughts about the use of steel for our bikes. Steel enables all the desirable properties for a reliable bike. Our commitment to - and belief in - steel is rigid.
Doctrine #2: Bikes should be serviceable.
The bike industry has made bikes increasingly—and unnecessarily—complicated, dragging riders and mechanics into a pointless race of hyper-specialized tools, spare parts, and ever-changing standards. We believe that your everyday adjustments should be possible to carry out with the standard keys on a basic multitool.
Doctrine #3: Local design and development.
Our frames are designed and built locally by hand in Copenhagen. We believe that our close proximity between all components of our development and production chain results in a better end product.
Doctrine #4: By mechanics, for riders.
At Polaris, we've spent decades wrenching on bikes. We've seen it all. We know what works—and what doesn't. Over time, we've developed our own blueprints for the perfect ride. We build the bikes we want to ride and work on ourselves.
